P.E.A.C.E. Plan
Speaker: Mark Affleck - Executive Director of the PEACE Plan (Saddleback Church)
marka@saddleback.com www.saddlebackchurch.org “Ordinary people, empowered by God’s Spirit, doing what Jesus did, together, wherever they are.” That’s the vision for the PEACE Plan, a massive movement to mobilize Christians around the world to attack its five giant problems--Spiritual Emptiness; Self-Serving Leadership; Poverty; Disease; and Illiteracy. PEACE stands for P: Promote Reconciliation; E: Equip Servant Leaders; A:Assist The Poor; C: Care For The Sick; and E: Educate The Next Generation. It is a network of hundreds of thousands of churches and millions of Christians working together--in concert with governments, businesses and charitable organizations--to take the lead in addressing the world's most pressing problems. It is not owned by any person, church or organization. It is under God's divine hand. The PEACE Plan is the hope for a hurting world. | PEACE - MP3 |
Mediating Conflicts in the Asian American Context
Speaker: Dr. Young Hertig (I.S.A.A.C.)
younghertig@sbcglobal.net http://isaacblog.wordpress.com Chronic conflict, swept under the rug, eventually finds a way of bursting open unpredictably, often resulting in splitting of the body of Christ. Drawing biblical examples from Acts 6, the workshop first addresses how the Apostles handle conflict. Second, it addresses how culture shapes in the way we respond to conflict. Third, skill sets for processing conflict are provided with special attention to cross cultural dimensions of conflict. The expected outcome of the workshop is to equip participants with healthier ways of dealing with conflict and thus reducing anxiety in leading congregations. A tangible tool box is offered through exercises which aid leaders in facilitating conflict. | Conflict-MP3Part 2

The Centrality of Israel
Speaker: June Chern (International House of Prayer)
jadechern@gmail.com www.IHOP.org Jerusalem is not simply the geographic destination of the Gospel in order to complete the Great Commission. Rather Jerusalem and God's covenant people--Israel--are the center of God's redemptive plan. The apostle Paul said, "The Gospel of Christ...it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first" (Rom 1:16). He even prophesied that in the end "all Israel will be saved" (Rom 11:26). What is our role in this? How important is the evangelism of the Jewish people? What are the some practical ways to witness to Jewish people? Israel is the apple of God's eye and the centerpiece of the missions movement. | Israel - MP3 |
Music and Missions
Speaker: Larissa Lam (On the Way Up Ministries)
larissa@onthewayup.net http://onthewayup.net Music plays an important role in most churches today. However, it can sometimes be an afterthought on missions trips or not used in the most strategic way to reach the nations. It’s been said that music is the universal language. We’ll explore how to better integrate music on missions trips and ways to use it cross culturally. We’ll discuss the use of music in non-traditional ways as a means of outreach. We’ll also touch upon the music industry as a mission field and tent-making opportunities for musicians. | Music - MP3 |

Speaker: Paul Pruitt (OMF Diaspora Ministries)

When Helping Hurts: A Discussion on Appropriate Responses to the Poor
Speaker: Jim Ardill (Serving In Mission)
jim.ardill@sim.org www.sim.org We begin by taking a practical look into poverty and the negative effect of well intentioned mission outreach to the poor and ask these questions; “What went wrong?” “Our last visit hasn’t changed anything or anyone?” and from the book titled “How do you help the poor without hurting them or yourself?” Next, we describe the nature of man’s relationship to God, society and the world. Then we’ll discuss when to deploy relief, rehabilitation and development and the impact of each on mission outreach. | Poor -MP3 |
"Reaching the Last, the Lost and the Least" (Reaching people groups under 10,000 population)
Speaker: Roland Heck (Global Recordings)
rolandheck@globalrecordings.net www.globalrecordings.net "Tailenders" are the smallest and most isolated language groups, with less than 10,000 people, to whom the Gospel has never been proclaimed. There are over 2000 such language groups in the world. By virtue of their smallness, they rarely qualify to be on anyone's priority list. Project Tailenders began with a fresh vision for the unreached peoples of our land. We desire to provide recordings that sow seeds of Christian truth among the minority language speakers to create spiritual hunger for the Living God. | Last - MP3 |
The Convergence of the Missions Movement & the Prayer & Worship Movement
Speaker: June Chern (International House of Prayer)
jadechern@gmail.com www.IHOP.org John Piper has a great quote: "Mission exist because worship doesn't. Isn't that the end of the missions movement--the establish worship and prayer unto Jesus in every city of the earth? In the past couple of years, God has brought a strategic convergence of the world-wide missions movement and the prayer & worship movement. The two fuel one another in a dynamic and catalytic way to complete the Great Commission, in order to usher in the 2nd coming of Christ. | Movement-MP3 |
Bridging Hope to 300 million Dalits, One Child at a Time
Speaker: Nenita Herrera-Sioco (Gospel for Asia)
nenitahs@yahoo.com
www.gfa.org
For 3000 years the Dalits have been the object of persecution in South Asia. The word Dalits means “broken”, and that is literally how all Dalits have been living from generation to generation. They have been raised to know…that they were born to suffer. There are 300 million of them scattered in South Asia today. For the last 30 years, Gospel for Asia has been ministering to these people, bringing hope in the name of Jesus and setting them free from the mindset of suffering to earn forgiveness through Jesus, one child at a time. What can you do? How can you reach and share God’s love to them that God refers to as “the least of these” without leaving the country? Come and see!

Back to Jerusalem Movement (MP3 not available)
Speaker: Sam Boyce
chinarep.sam@gmail.com
www.backtojerusalem.com
Many mistake the idea of Back to Jerusalem as a movement of the Chinese church to evangelize Jerusalem. However, Back to Jerusalem is the goal of the Chinese church to evangelize the unreached peoples from eastern provinces of China, westwards towards Jerusalem. The vision was birthed among the Chinese in the 1920s, and since that time, the church of China have strived and even suffered persecution to fulfill what they believe is their integral role in fulfilling the great commission.

The Rise of Asian Theology: Theological Education in the 21st Century (CANCELLED)
Speaker: Rev. James Yu (Logos Theological Seminary)
jamesyu@les.edu
www.les.edu
The 21st century is a century of contextualized theology; a century of transition from the West to the East. Asian American Christians have a special place in this transition to bridge between the two great theological power house. Currently, most of the seminaries in America are so accustomed to doing theology of the West, even Asian seminaries in America are doing the same thing. However, I believe there will be an emerging theological trend that is unstoppable, one that transcends the traditional and denominational boundaries, one that is rooted in the first century Christianity, a form of theology that brought the priest of Judaism to faith and impacted the whole world of its day. So from a post-modern community, the theological community is moving into a critical modernity that no longer take its own premise for granted, the position of religious power is no more. The theological community must be challenged to examine and reexamine its own theological presuppositions and allow the Holy Spirit to offer the church a revelation that will inspire the 21st century Christians to live radically and to transform the world for Christ.
