[UPDATE: Less than 24 hours after the post and our funding is already all given out (to great Charities!) Check below for details of the different organizations people gave to. We encourage all of you to keep giving generously this Christmas and beyond but for now at least, we have concluded this opportunity. Thanks! ] As the Christmas season is upon us, I’ve been given a unique opportunity that I wish to share with you as well. A certain amount of funds has been entrusted to me (Santosh) to use for a good cause. But why stop at only one cause? There’s a way to give many times over with only one donation from you! Here’s how it works: 1) For every $35 you give to Livingwell Pregnancy Center or for every Christmas Shoebox you give to Samaritan’s Purse, we will send you a $15 gift card to Trade as One or a gift item from World Vision worth up to $15. 2) You give the giftcards to friends and family as Christmas gifts. 3) The giftcards themselves give to poor and oppressed people groups around the world. See? Three gifts in one! As soon as you donate, email me at GiveChristmas2010@gmail.com and we’ll send you the giftcard. The offer stands as long as the funds hold up. If you’d like your giftcards sent in time for Christmas, make sure to email us before December 17. If you donate after that time, don’t worry, we will still get you your giftcards! So after you donate all you have to do is email us... 1) Which cause you gave to (LivingWell or Samaritan’s Purse) 2) How much you gave (e.g. $35, $70, 2 shoeboxes, etc.) 3) For each giftcard: a) Which one you’d like (World Vision or Trade as One) *For World Vision gifts, you must tell us the item you would like from their catalogue b) The name and address you’d like it sent to Please join us in this fun and purposeful activity this Christmas. Our hope and goal with this is to take the annual task of gift giving to another level. One gift from you would stretch to impact many. Who knows...maybe it will be a new tradition! Any questions? First we give all glory to God who planted the vision of PFN within us. On October 2, 2010 we had our 2nd Passion for the Nations – Asian American Missions Conference. There were nearly 700 attendees from 120 different churches and organizations! It feels like God is unifying his people to work together in a greater measure. We were blessed with 3 great plenary speakers alone with 18 different workshops relating to missionary work. It was a successful conference where many people were moved to take action in the next two years. One attendee said afterwards “This conference opened my eyes to God's work around the world! I want to learn more about missions and need to equip myself for my next mission, whether it is increase Bible knowledge, learn how to lead Worship/small groups, have more testimonies, etc. I'll also pray more for the missionaries and offer more towards missions!!!” This was exactly what we wanted– to stir the Asian American community to get deeper involved in global evangelism. We had a chance to network with many mission organizations and get connected with key leaders in the Asian American community. One unique thing that happened was that many start-up organizations came to exhibit. There were about 7 organizations that were under 3 years old. It shows that God is moving strategically in creating new platforms for young Asian Americans to use their gifts and resources. One of the most memorable moments for many people was the Concert of Prayer. During that hour, many people fell on their knees on behalf of the nations of the world and cried out for their salvation. It was a powerful time that stirred many to tears. It reminds us of the saying “missions is never without prayer, and prayer is never without missions”. It is an exciting time we live in when God is doing something special for the Asian American Christians. We see His hand upon us from the start, and we sense His guidance into the future. It has been a crazy ride for the past two years to see PFN planted and taking root in Southern California. I can’t wait to see what fruits it will bear in the next five years. May our Asian American brothers and sisters rise up to the challenge to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ into all the nations! Prayer for All Peoples! 10/14/2010
Inviter: Jennifer Lee (She attended Passion for the Nations and was stirred by the Concert of Prayer to host a one day prayer gathering) On Saturday October 23, 2010 please come and join us to Pray for all the Peoples of the world, From 9 am to 9 pm. This is an invitation to all of you who know that God moves as his people get on their knees, seek His face, and worship him. As the peoples of the world are calling out to him, we can join the chorus and stand in the gap for those who do not yet know Him. We will meet at William Carey International University in Pasadena, California. This is the same property that holds the US Center for World Mission, a place that has historically hosted numbers of organizations and visionaries who have desired to see the peoples of the world, especially the "unreached peoples" hear the story of Jesus. Come to the center of campus at the place called the "Prayer Slab" where many have knelt to pray for the nations. (It is right in the center of campus between the Townsend Parking lot and the Basketball Court.) Join us to sustain an all-day prayer chain, blocking out every hour to lift up specific groups of the world in worship and intercession. You can come and join whenever you can, and stay as long as you like. We encourage you to bring specific prayers, verses, or knowledge of places you have visited or lived in. Our goal is to also encourage worship throughout the day, and even try to worship in the way of the people we are praying for. If you have any knowledge or expertise in ethnic worship (as well as just contemporary), we would love for you to share! Attached is the times blocked out for every hour that will target specific groups of people. Hope to see you there! Any questions, call Jennifer Lee at (626) 905-9306 | LCCs Needed!
As a Local Church Coordinator (LCC), you will be promoting the conference at your church through word of mouth, showing our 3 min. promotional DVD, posting bulletin announcements, distributing posters and fliers, and most importantly, pray for God to stir your church. LCCs will help organize the the group that is coming and make sure everyone is properly registered. You will be the voice of our conference to your people so we deeply appreciate your help!
